Fished the beaches on Sanibel in the mornings the 21st through the 23rd with a few of my old friends who don't fish much. Caught some greenbacks to make things easy and had fun pitching live baits to Snook the days we were there. Ended up with about a dozen Snook from 18-30" and a 21" Redfish kicker, with quite a few breakoffs fishing 20lb flouro with inexperienced anglers. Both my friends got there biggest fish of their lives, and first Snook, and one got his first Red. Pictures of the biggest Snook of the trip and the Red.

Fishing a desolate beach AND catching fish. What a great time.

krash : We we're staying off Sanibel Captiva Rd. in a small neighborhood called Gulf Pines or something which had private beach access.

Headed that way starting tonight (driving from NY).

I remember going there B4 the bridge and having to take the Ferry across..
also used to go to Bonita Bch. before the bridge/causeway to Ft. Meyers was there.
