HUH? Tilapia taste like crap because it eats crap. You need to try mangrove, mutton, yellowtail, or cubera snapper, hogfish, pompano, red or black grouper, yellow jack, redfish, sea trout, snook, sheephead, dolphin, cobia, wahoo, kingfish, and list goes on. You have to stay away from oily fish like mac, bluefish, and jack cervelle. The key is freshness. Good luck.

What Bolo said. I would try FRESH snapper, hogfish or grouper first. I have gotten people that say they will not touch fish to enjoy fresh snapper.

After seeing dirty jobs on discovery channel seeing what they use the tilapia for you won't eat either.

IMO, I cannot eat fish from the grocery store any more, as I know it is probably a week old.

Likely much older. The freshest fish purchasable is likely 5 days at minimum from ocean to plate. W / Proper daily icing and drainage, this is not an issue, though.
