I wish I could go on Sat...
I had an opportunity today but I found that out way too late... I plan to go to fish city pride for afternoon trip...not sure what I can catch...
Of course, I am bringing my VJ :cheese:

I went on Fish City Pride and was skunked... and worse... I lost spool cap on stradic 8000. really don't know what happened...so no VJ..
I did flat line for King. Currently was almost dead. Wind was moving the boat.
I got two cut off...one cut off was done over my soft wire... that's all I got for fun... A guy told me morning trip caught one cabia, @ 50LB.
Boat-provided frozen sardines didn't look like good bait. (Next time, I would bring my bait)

A guy in the back caught three decent Kings, just like 1, 2, 3 straight during first 30 min or so. Cap told he was using "XYZ" rig.
I checked out his set-up and put it into my photograph memory....LOL

Good luck with Gulf Stream !!

I would like to go but i have a bum knee, taking a long time to heal. I usually go on the Sea King in Marathon, but would like to try the gulfstream since it is closer to home. Not to sure about the rotation deal they use, but sounds like you always do real well. Maybe next time I will go.

Go with one of us that regularly goes lol.
If not... a light inshore style rod but with a little backbone and 4000-5000 series spinning reel specifically for sandballing yellowtails.
Don't need bait and if you want a jigging rod for vert jig. And maybe one bigger spinner combo for kings and whatever else
If u want to troll there is opportunity on the way out/in

Watch What Carter And Lemont do And copy. Two black dudes older always on there.

Don't sit in fluffs seat

15 lb mono no braid

Don't take a reel u don't mind getting sand on

30 to 50 lb bottom rod If ur into muttons and grouper in season

But takes getting used to their sandball rotAtion.
