Yankee Capts Boatless Trip 2015
Well, that is 7 for a Yankee Capts trip. In May grouper opens and is a great month. If you all want an impressive and abundant catch, Pulley Ridge is the place. In May the blackfin tunas are abundant, there is occasional wahoo, and the Mutton Snapper and Red Grouper bite is good at night.
Start putting money away. I will speak with the Captain for pricing. Pulley Ridge can be Capped at 20 people. Dry Tortugas at 30 for a light load. That leaves plenty space at the Rail. We can do a 2.5 day to Tugas or a 3 day to Pulley.
No electric reels are needed at pulley but if you have them then you won't need elbow grease. If I can do without, anyones else can. A 4:1 reel will do. Only need 2 to 3 pounds to hold (or pray you do)
Before I contact the Captain I would like to know how many more are interested and an idea on what month you all would like to go. I can fill in the gap with other people.
Dry Tortugas:
April, Grouper opens in Gulf (exept Gag)
May, Grouper opens in Atlantic
June: Pray for American Red Snapper to open.
July: Hot, Hot, Hot temperatures,
August: Hot, Hot, Hot temperatures
September: Mutton Snapper in DT starts to get better
October: Great month
November: Great Month
Pulley, should be good all year.

Re: Yankee Capts Boatless Trip 2015
I am trying to get the time off for the last pully in June. Not sure if the job will give it to me.
I know May is out of the question for me, busiest month for me.
If I can't get June off my only options are July-Sept for me. Not sure if its going to be worth it.

I'm down, ready to pay now if necessary. Not too sure about a pulley ridge trip because I don't wanna spend all that $ on an electric setup though.

Re: Yankee Capts Boatless Trip 2015
ffishermen1, no worries nothing set in stone yet. I just want to get a feel of how many and when everyone can go.
Joe, this is not Yuri type Pulley Ridge. We would not fish in 1,000 feet deep. It would be 300 to 500 feet. But if the majority says Dry Tortugas then that's where we will go. By the way Yankee Capts PR trip is one hell of a meat trip. But in the DT there is more challenge.
As a far as $ we need to know how many, how many days, and where we will be fishing. It can be anywhere from 500 to 700 bucks.

No worries, we will go where the majority wnats to go. But again you donot need an electric to fish in 300 to 500 feet of water.

My bad Raul
Pulley Ridge is about a 12 hour ride and isdeep water fish fishing during daytime and reef fish plus big blackfin tuna fishing at night.
DRY Tortugas is fishing about 80 to 250 feet fishing for reef fish and pelagics.

I would consider it depending in dates
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

I'd deff be up for this if it's straight DT fishing. I'll pass on the deep drop stuff.

Great news I got the time off for the June PR trip.
Depending when this trip is going to take place I would be able to make a second trip.
I'll pm you Herb to pick your brain on doing a PR trip.
