Party boat that do night fishing down at the Keys ?

Post by big red »

Is there any boat that do night fishing base down at the Keys ? I know Kellys fleet does it in Miami, sick of catching large Grunts and crowded by tourists.
If there are some.. What size rod and reel, line test generaly used and how deep do they fish in ?

Thanks,

Kin

I know that the Gulfstream and Robbies both have a night trip. Depth will depend on the conditions, but they will be targetting yellowtails, so in the 60-100 foot range is a good bet. A 15 lb spinner and a selection of different weight trollrites will suit you well.

I was told the Gulfstream no longer do night fishing because one of the other captain had retired. And that leave only Capt Chan to run the whole show. Unless things has change since then. Will look into it somemore. I alway like to fish on the Gulfstream .

Grouper,grouper soon...... :reeling:

The 7-2 will sure thin out the herd, just that by the time I get home will be like 2am,and fight the Miami night traffic all the way home. Dayatime fishing is a pain on the Kellys boat,20 line going over the side for Kingfish/Bonito and a huge mess when the hooked fish gone sideway. Since the tourist will stay in one spot and not following the hooked fish. lol

Ahh, I only went on one daytime trip on Kelley, with 2 guys from this forum, and it was a good trip. I only fish at night, I'm a vampire.
