It was 25.
I have thought much about that Red Grouper, as to why it was there, because that is a Big Red Grouper. I believe the record is around 40 lbs.

I believe that one of two things may have happenend.

1. The fish had been caught on a Drift Boat or another Boat, got away and due to it's age was not able to handle the fight and ended up in the surf water.

2. It was sick or just old so it came in to die as some fish will from my understanding. The fish was not very active when he wrestled it from the water.

The fish was eaten and made excellent Sandwiches from what was told to me.

So what ever the reason it was there not everybody get's to say they wrestled a 25lb Red Grouper bare handed and won!

You reading one of my books, LOL that is a good book.

I get them all the time small in the keys, 2 lbs to 4lbs.

I also know of others caught at anglins but not close to that size.
