Old Hitler

Post by Perichois »

I don't know if anybodys herd the story of Old Hitler The Hammer Head but I live near Boca Grande/Charlotte Harbor and this is my story of it: Every summer tarpon show up in force in Boca Grande Pass along with tarpon come the sharks BIG sharks were talkin 200-400 bull sharks and sometimes BIG!!BIG!!! hammer heads that eat tarpon like a snook eats greenbacks. This Hammer Head is a 16-18 ft Hammer Head that raveges hooked tarpon.Well one day were out at the beach swiming and fishing and haven fun well this flats boat out from us hooked a 100-150lb tarpon. So the tarpons out there jumping and thrashing then it goes NUTS!!!!! and heads strate for shore here comes a fin then the tail fin[I would estimate the distance between the dorsal and tail fin to be about 10-12 feet that gave me a genaral idea of how big this shark was    ].So back to the story the tarpons' trying to with a hook in his mouth to out run this shark whitch was inposible so he comes strate to shore again this time he jumps right before he comes out of the water and lands on the beach . So he flops back in the water and keeps runing again. Keep in mind there fighting and chaseing this tarpon with lite line .So the shark finely catches the tarpon and the guys on the boat reel in a head of a tarpon. Thanks For Reading Perichois.

that pic of old hitler has been along time , if he is still alive he we would have seen him on the tarpon tourny they tape every year a boca grande . i googled and done every thing to find more about that monster! but they are plenty of sons of ole hitler there ! i wonder how many tarpon get eaten there a season ? it is nature...... them tarpon realy stack up in that pass, i like to watch the show for just the shark attacks, waitin to see a glimpse of him if hes still alive , but there plenty of jr. around !
Is it better to be feared or respected or is it two much to ask for both......
