fishing in port everglades

thought you guys would like this! i was in the navy in summer 1993 our ship was on the way to gitmo cuba guantanamo bay. we hit a port call in lauderdale and dock in port everglades. well i got in trouble during an in spection and was given orders if i left ship on liberty i had to wear my dress whites! not wanting to go out in my dreess uniform i put it on just long enough to catch a cab to a bait shop to get bait.while fishing over the rail caught a few small fish and a decent cuda that cut off. but a guy in a big bowrider kept coming in back and forth in the inter costal and kept getting closer and closer to the ship! back and forth he went, finally cutting alot of our lines. no big deal right. IM LIVID!!! i learned one thing in va beach fishing piers you can get these @#$ holes back!!! line up an extra rod with a 3-4 oz sinker and a big treble hook! so i did. here he comes again just relined and in the water and the sob comes even closer to the ship with bimini top proudly waving. i had a long beach rigged and ready and stuck it in the front of the boat I GOT SPOOLED! when he got about 300 yards away he stopped and climb up to check out the damage i hope it tore it, i hate people like that but thats how you fix em. burnt my reel up too but it all in the wash now!!!
