Issue with Forum ----UPDATE

Ok the server has no idea why the search function page will not view and claim they have engineers on it.

Those that have some server knowledge probable want to know what is happening so here you go.

I believe dns issue or something related to point to file but could also be some type of lock out because of maybe name of file and they did a patch that shut down the use of that word search.

Anyways this is whats happening.

When you goto the search page or request the links on top which in turn request the search.php page it comes back a 502.

So I go to the root folder where the file is on the server and find file and I can see it, so I try to view and 502 but I can change its name and view it but will not function due to name change but will open now???????????????????

So somebody turned something off or on.
So I can't really make any changes until I know they are done doing what ever they are doing.

To be able to see newer posts easier
Go to the bottomish of the index page of forum and click on Mark all forums read. This will reset the main folders and you will than be able to see from the index page what forums have new posts the folders will change and turn blue instead of yellow when they have new posts.

I am trying to get it resolved ASAP

Wow, been off a while.. jones'in for bf-data hope it gets resolved soon. I was thinking it was more of a 420 error.

I assume that most people like myself just linked the "new post" to their bookmark page, and like me hit several favorite pages quickly and directly every day or so.

Tommy, not sure how deep into the programming you get involved, but it looks like the problem is with the pointers within the search.php file only, not a DNS issue. I believe troubleshooting that file is what's needed?

Yes it is up but they are still working on some issues on the server.

The links came down to a block on the search php why I don't know and they have not told me this I just know that is what it was.

I went through at least 10 different PHP code pages that took the last two mornings and found no errors. I can see an error happening in my include/function.php but the error is not consistent so I believe this is server based also and I am trying to figure it out.

Yahoo is not that bad believe it or not, they do keep there server up to date but that is what causes us problems every year about the same time, they do a serious upgrade this time of year and make configuration changes and BAM.

So anyways we will still I think see some errors for a day or 2, I will also be doing some stuff in our database late night the next couple of nights so it will be up and down and as soon as the server calms down I will bring the MSQl up to date but this is going to be a little tricky so I will give all a heads up in the coming weeks when I go to do it once i have the scripts together to run to conform the old data base to the new because there are some larger changes in the newer msql that I have to anticipate will be troublesome.
