Hi,
Newbie to this site. New to East Coast Florida. (Deerfield Beach).
I am a snow bird from Montreal. Spend the winter here. I have been fishing from Feb to May,
mostly at Hillsborrow Bridge and Boca Inlet Bridge.I fish 2 to 4 times a week. Afternoons and evenings. Have not caught 1 fish. I use my cast net every time and not catching any bait. This weekend, after discovering this site, I went to John Lloyd Beach Park. Did catch bait and 1 hit on my bait, but then the park ranger threw me out.
Certainly hope to learn from this site.
Leaving for home in 2 weeks. Be back next fall.
Good fishing,
Uncle Henri

Re: Newbie
Hello,
I recently started fishing with my daughter a few months ago.
We usually go to the Commercial Pier. $10 parking is a little high.
The bait we use is frozen shrimp.
We catch different size Grunts.
A friend of mine (who has been fishing for years) used a live Grunt as bait and hooked a Barracuda. It was very impressive to us. LOL
Last weekend we went to Deerfield Island Park and did some fishing off the dock.
It was pretty cramped because the slips are small, but it worked out.
We used frozen shrimp and caught 6 puffer fish and 1 sand Perch.
We have had the best luck with frozen shrimp.
