What Size/type hooks

Just might work. I'm a newbie and hadn't had much luck with pompano. The only one I've caught was last year on a store bought rig. I'ts called a kahle hook or something like that.

I would try with a #2 or #1 if you're going with circle hooks.

2/0 circle hook sounds about right. It shouldn't be larger than your thumb. You should be able to hook a sand flea or piece of shrimp and still hide the hook.

In circles I use 1/0 and 2/0 eagle claw not a wide gap
Khale hooks "Old English Hooks" I use 1 or a 2

I agree with Tommy. Since the Fleas are not usually big I would still with a small gap circle hook.
