Ex forum chef checking in here. I'll be abandoning my fry station any minute now and boarding a plane for north cuba. You know it's gotta be good to get me outa the kitchen.

Not much of a report, but my uncle says he saw mullet getting blasted in the Hollywood ICW all this morning.

Slower day for Anglins Pier only a handful of small pods of mullet passed, did see a couple of Sardine schools and Pilchard also.

Lets see what Hurricane Joaquin does for us over the next 3 days, fingers crossed (tommy (tommy

I wonder how rough the water will be on Sunday? I am thinking that fishing on the beach should be dynamite, but worried about conditions being too rough. Can always fish the port side or move inland a bit if necessary. Or just bring really heavy tackle :dude:

Push those fish in Joaquin!

So I was able to bring my reels down, but the rods woulda cost a fortune. Anyone have a snook rod I could borrow for the next 4-5 days? Something with some backbone for chunking mullet? I'm in Miami if anyone can help a brotha out.

Thanks!

Yesterday 5PM - 5AM, I was Juno beach pier, Jansen Beach Causeway bridge, jupiter inlet...
I didn't see much of mullet at Juno pier, small pompano and blues, and they kicked me out at 7:15 PM...

Decided to go to north... Somehow, ended up Jansen Beach causeway bridge... wanted to see snook...
Some fingers... nobody catching snook... And then friday-night-trouble-making kids went onto the other side of "pier" cross water way, where you can't reach without boat. They had a small boat roped... one kid caught a snook... sometime later, I and other guys next to me saw big splashes on the water...
We've been saying it must be a school of big tarpons. It turned out the rope loosed and their boat drifting, one kid was swimming desperately to catch the boat... We laughed non-stop... I took off and went to Jupiter inlet.

Around 2 AM, the inlet became feeding ground about 40 by 40 yards, about 20 yard front of me of blues and ladies..no snook/poon...... bright moon light seemed to make fingers defenseless around inlet... blue and ladies at bottom were attacking fingers on surface under bright moon light... helpless fingers were surrounded and trapped...definitely amazing scene. last over 2 hours...
I used LED bobber to keep my cut bait on surface... cut bait was faster... Just threw it over feeding ground... landed about countless big ladies and ocean blues (3 - 4 LB) along with countless hits and misses... and kept 10 blues for my smoker.

I thought it was you but wasn't sure since your face was covered. I stopped by as well but nothing was happening.

Big pod of finger mullet this morning at boynton inlet. Mostly snook and lots of bluefish.

Singer Island was SOLID bait this morning. I mean SOLID!!! As many bluefish as you could possibly want, and as fast as you could reel em in. EVERYWHERE!!! If you could cast a spoon 75 yards, the spanish were flying out of the water by the hundreds. I haven't seen action like that since 2012. I didn't even fish tho, just watched the action and talked to the Blacktip H guy Josh. lol. Catchem up googs!

poseidon is right. They are coming so thick, pods coming in waves outside the breaks 50-100 yards out, and strings inside, sometimes endless it seemed. 99% fingers. Everything is on them, inside and out. Except big jack. We caught blues, lady's, tarpon, shark, and even a few snook.

7ft NE swell expected this week... Baits are going to be gunning south.

No mullet and almost scattered pods of small pilchards at John U Lloyd this afternoon. Nothing on nothing. Park ranger started kicking people out at 6:50.

Saw a guy using a baby Bermuda chub as bait on a chicken rig... Thats a new one.

Looks like the bulk of the run is still just a bit north?

Big school of bluefish at deerfield pier northside right now .at one time it spans half of the pier. I thought its baitfish but its all blues. Most baitfish is on the surf (south side) being harrassed by huge ladyfish's
