So I have been tossing around the idea of doing a jigging clinic for the forum. 5 guys plus me. only thing needed is a fishing license and jig set up.

we will go over-
form and technique
jig style
reel and rod choice.
retreave style

This will be a teaching trip for me so I will put you guys on the wreck and coach.

I drilled a hole in a butter knife and put an assist hook and split ring on it. It worked. No need to buy a $20 shimano butterfly jig. It's all in the retrieve.

yep, that is the plan. I am interested in using black hole blank.
I have a NS black hole rod that someone gave to me. I had no idea that was a jigging rod until Cudaman told me.
I think the blank is really good...

Why? Was it too small?

The diameter is too big. The 250 gram rod is more of a 350 gram rod.

This is for you.
Here is youtube of Kil Song's latest Mexico trip to Maria Madre Island.

It was on Korea fish TV show. I translate a little bit for you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVKKgbgHW14
@ 4:45, Kil's place in NJ. The "shark guy" shops anything he wants from Kil's place.(I wish I could do that). All NS black hole rod
BTW, the shark guy is the rod engineer who designed all the black hole rods.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=491UaAUU3sw @10:27, a big tuna hits Kil's rod. Kil thinks he may lose all of his line.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-sqcmBeLBo He thinks it is big one easily over 250LB but he think he might lose almost all of his line 500 meter line (probably because ship could not move to retrieve line as too many rods have fish on.)
@9:00, his reelseat broke a little. @9:30 he fought one hour and 50 min but his leader line broke by rubbing the boat side. (It was dark with poor lighting, they couldn't see the fish and his gear was too heavy. If it was day time, the captain should have moved boat a little forward).
