Thanks for the report... Since the site has been down i havent been able to write mines up.
Fished Tueday from 7 am -3 pm.
Caught a keeper lesser AJ at around 9 just west of the hut. Lots of small macs and jacks in the surf, but you had to work for them... Other than that, lots of grouper coming up close to the T, even saw a 25 incher in the morning.
Ended up with some bait and a decent lesser which made some awesome fish fingers

Re: Anglins Pier Fishing Reports 2012 "ONLY REPORTS"
Ricky it was a pleasure meeting you!! Got to anglins around 3:30 for some superbowl fishing action, fished with shrimp for a little and caught a decent jack crevalle and a large mojarra. I also put a crab trap in and checked it every hour but the crabs must have been watching the game cause I hardly caught any. Around 6 me and my friend moved to the T and we each tossed a live grunt off the end, after only about 10 minutes of soaking my live grunt was absolutely crushed and very hard, I had what I think was a grouper on for a good 30 seconds before painfully watching the line go slack. Also tried sharking but the current was not cooperating and nothing was caught, well till next time!!
There's no such thing as too much bait!!

Toss a chunk of one out.. I would bet there are bluefish or sharks around.

There were tons of cuttlefish out the other night... that's all I caught.. it kinda sucked because I threw them all back and had no idea of their value! lol They were HUGE!
Oh.. and I hooked into my largest pomp ever.. but in my excitement I decided to flip it over with my ultra light jigging rod and 8lb test.... let's just say it didn't quite make it... I'm such a googan! D'oh!
Oh well... it would have been delicious..

Look in the supermarket and you will see cuttlefish sold in cans just like squid.

Re: Anglins Pier Fishing Reports 2012 "ONLY REPORTS"
Fished last night from 9:30pm to 3:30am, it was basically a trash fish night. Used cut google-eyes and dead shrimp for bait. I fished close to shore. Set out three rods, within fifteen minutes I had a big rip on one of the rods. The fish made a big run to the right and then it made a run for the pier’s piling. I gained the upper hand on the fish and the fish surfaced. It was a big sting ray, I just pop line and retied the line. Between 9:30pm to 1 am, I either got a blue fish or a smooth puffer on.
I caught 5 blue fish between one to two pounds

And 5 smooth puffers. Although not commonly regarded as a game fish these odd shaped fish fought surprisingly hard with hard pulls and hard dashes.

After one o’clock, the blue fish were gone but I still had bites. Unfortunately, it’s still trash fish but different kinds. I had one ladyfish

And a bunch of Bermuda chubs

After 2:30am, I ran out of google-eyes so I used dead shrimps on all three rods. I had no bite until 3am. I had a small tap and set the hook, I felt dead weight of a hooked fish on the other end of the line. The resistance was minimal as I reeled in the line. Another odd shaped fish with spots and spines popped up. Yup, it was a porcupine fish. While I tried to flip the fish, the other rod had a fish on. I quickly got the fish on the pier and fought the other fish. The other rod felt dead weight again and another porcupine fish popped up. The third rod had the same results. What’s the odd of that happens again?

While I tried to unhook these fish, an older Vietnamese gentleman came over and asked if he can have the fish. I told him they are poisonous and said he had eaten them before so he took them home. I just hope I will see him on pier the again. LOL
I guess I have a trash slam from Anglin’s Pier
, still fun none the less.
