Bridge Muttons

Post by Rare »

I was speaking to a forum members a few days ago and one of the conversations we had was about bridge. What in your opinion is a ""Respectable Size Bridge Mutton Snapper?""

So looks to be 20in. :toast: I started this thread in 2folds- One of them is to bring up your game when you are fishing out on the bridge. First time 16in mutton is sweet, but if you put in the cooler it wont be the same size later on if FWC pulls up. Just something to think about. I think 20in is good and does have some nice meat to them.

As for grovers in my book 18in is good for me. At 18in these guys have plenty of meat in them & they are thick. This is about the size that i keep them and pretty much everything else goes back. Unless a nice 17in has some good size and i want to have a grover for dinner then it goes in the box.

Can't believe how small your head looks when you hold the fish like that. Probably photoshopped too

Here you go :P The smaller one is 16" for reference. Tried to release it but it wouldn't swim away so it went in the icebox.

Even when they are biting good, my grover limit is well below 18" more like 13-14(15+15 = will smoke an 18) unless it is one of those pancake models. They are just too sweet to let go back.
I think a 20" mutton is definitely a respectable fish if boatless fishing.

20 inches for muttons and grovers. Even my gf looks at grovers under 20 inches and says throw it back.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

That's nice.

Odds are you'll catch a keeper cobia before you catch a 20" mango where I fish.

What does that mean I know girls and say through all of them back so you should throw all of them back. More like the voice of inexperience And shouldn't really respond to something like this

For boatless bottom fising, spot is most important... That is why I am so crazy about honey holes.
