I am from up North and have enjoyed the many years of fishing for snook in Sanibel and Fort Desoto, both near piers. Juno pier seems to have much activity from the pier but is fishing permitted on the shore and how is it ?

Yes it is allowed. Snook jacks tarpon and sharks are all there especially sunrise and sunset.
