question about trolley rig
Couple of questions. I have been trying (trying key word) to single pole trolley fish off the juno pier. I am using a 6000 penn fierce II and a 9 foot heavy action rod. My question is if the 20lb mono I am using is sufficient and if I switch to braid will my leader still slide down my line? My leader is usually about 3 or 4 ft of 30lb fluorocarbon and 6-8 inches of wire.

Re: question about trolley rig
You need to slide it over braid line with some care...so it will work but braid may invite other problems...

PaulieBoy wrote:1guy1rod....switch to braid, forget the trolley, keep the mono leader with a trace of wire, and just freeline the bigger baits off the end of the pier. Your bait will go farther out, cover more area and your chances of hooking a diesel fish will greatly increase.....just my opinion
Thanks for the info guys. I am planning on going out first thing in the am.
