Exactly...especially seeing as though there are SO MANY ALMACOs being passed off as amberjacks (greater). That dorsal's overlooked way too often. Been guilty myself.

thanks for posting this, helps to identify the right species of fish.

By the way, you can't mess up almaco jack ID because they have dark, very dark skin. AJs are more bronze/brown colored.
