Kitefishing from the beach

Ive got into this kitefishing, new to the states but has been in the pacific for years, its awesome, Im now getting my baits and lures out over 500yds and into places I could never cast too.
There is a new kite that has a windsock behind it and you can steer it up to 45% from the wind.

Gone are my days of standing waist deep in the surf trying to get that perfect cast.

if you use a drouge(wind sock) you can tack the kite by 45% to the wind

Heres something emailed to me about this and i found interesting.

The bigger of our rigs is capable of taking up to 25 big traces up to a mile offshore, and we have smaller units for casting your rigs out up to 500yds.

What do you mean Traces? is that lines

Welcome to the forum.

I was certainly intrigued by your message and link. Went to your site, and it seemed a little "skinny" to me. I've been online for a long time, and am naturally skeptical about web sites and claims made.

Definitely not enough web site content to educate me about your product, how to use it, or prove the claims made.

I was interested in seeing exactly what your kites are about, how to use them, the instructions, and what makes them significantly different from the kites now used for sailfishing, perhaps video of them in action here in Florida, and more.

Anyway, whenever I contemplate doing business with an online company, I always check them out.

Your site started back in March, 2006, and being rather new to the internet, I hope the additional content I was looking for is available, or will be added in the near future.

Let me know, as I am interested, and cautious. Especially on the internet.

Some Answers:

The pulling power of this Delta kite is unbelievable, it will take 2000yds of 220lb nylon out with up to 25 large baits on, in Texas they are using this rig to take large shark baits out with good success.

Yes we are very new to the Web, I only shifted here from NZ recently,
upon arriving I couldnt believe kites of this style werent here, hence we started the business, I have fished with kites for over 25 years, these kites we designed, correcting the failings of others on the market.
The difference between our kites and the kites used for sailfishing are huge, ours are more airodynamic, stronger and easier to control.

BIG FISH

The "Broward Fishing League" seems to have lost interest.

Although a "good idea", feedback suggested that it was too structured and commitment intensive for many forum members.

Don't dismay. A new evolution has begun.

"BIG FISH" (Boatless Individuals Going FISHing)

"BIG FISH" will not be structured. It is not a competition with rules, points, fees, etc.

Rather, it is intended to be an ongoing, monthly get together, perhaps more often, at a "to be announced" time and place, (Broward County BF locations)for any and all anglers. Meet fellow forum members, make new friends, find new fishing buddies, learn from seasoned anglers, demonstrate your skills, and more.

The only requirement is to relax, have fun, and enjoy yourself.

The location selected will be in Broward County, the surf-beach, a pier, inlet, bridge, or even ICW locations. Most places selected will be FREE, although parking may cost something, and when a pier is decided upon, there will, of course, be an admission fee. The selected location will change for each outing.

The get together will be designed to begin during "prime time", either at first light or earlier, or a couple hours before sunset, and probably last for about 90 minutes - 2 hours.

Of course, refreshments of your choice will always be served, if you bring them yourself.

And you never know if or when a well known "celebrity" will show up to fish with us.

Feedback is encouraged.

First get together:

Saturday, November 4th, at Sunrise, on the beach at Pompano Pier.
High Tide will be 6:49 am, give or take a few minutes.
Full Moon on Sunday.
Conditions should be optimal for sunrise fishing:)

We hope that BriKite will accept our invitation to demonstrate his products during this outing!

On a typical day I want to get a 2-5lb piece of cut bait plus weight to hold the botton out there for shark, and normally have a light east wind to north east wind. Living on the Atlantic coast means that deployment is most of the time due east. With a kite is it possible to deploy like this ~6-8lbs or tackle into a head wind, and how would it be accomplished (which kite and how would it be flown)

Also what is it like trying to retrieve a kite that is so far out and you are pulling it against the wind, also how is the kite controlled so that you can tack it, if there is just one line? Forgive my ignorance I know nothing about kites but am truely considering this concept as it would be cheaper and easier than buying and transporting a kayak.
