The tool is called a net shuttle.

I repaired a cast net of mine using bridal veil instead of going through and making a panel of monofiliment to use as a patch.

Image

Cut the bridal viel to the hole size that needs repair and tie/knot it into the existing net with thin mono....just make sure to add a drop of super glue to your knots and cut their tag ends as close as possible.

Normally I like to fix everything by myself, but because Im having a tough semester in school I really dont have the time or the patience to fix it, how much would you charge.? The net is pretty much "like new" exept for the 4ft long gash ( :nilly: ) that looks as if it was cut with a knife....
Next time you get your net gets stuck just go in and get it instead of ripping it. Goodluck
Funny thing you say that... A buddy and I actually found the net inside the boca inlet about a year ago, we had to jump in to "save" it..

Interesting.... maybe I can build something like that, It looks like weaveing line in and out the netting with that tool would be alot easyer rather than using a long strand of line.... I guess I can give it a try sometime when im free

I think Saturday night live should do a skit on the "how to throw a cast net" video demonstration in this URL....if you haven't seen this video...you should. I thought it was hilarious....I was so damn confused after watching....it would keep me from ever throwing one.

Don't get me wrong....I think these instructional videos are great.
I just thought the one on how to throw a cast net was funny.
