To my fellow fishing nuts,

I live in Ocala, I fished quite a bit at the mosquito lagoon. Loved it there. No two days were ever the same. I would like to try fishing in the gulf. Any advice about fishing the area say between Cedar Key and Crystal river would be greatly appreciated. I love wade fishing so the advice I am looking for is where to and techniques (Not much access that I can find.) I do have a cast net and use it. So advice about getting bait what species etc.. I do respect all the laws and I do have the new license.

If the monies acquired are used to improve the fishery I think it is a small price to pay so our grand children can enjoy the outdoors as much as we do. Now back to the issue at hand. I would like to catch trout, redfish and god willing a shot at a tarpon.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated
Thank you in advance

I lived 20 miles south of Live Oak, FL for awhile.

I wasn't fishing at that time in my life (well, maybe a little cat fishing on the Suwanee River) but the friends of mine that did, when they headed to the gulf they were targeting Redfish and trout.

I heard "Rocky Creek" mentioned alot as far as where they used to put their boats in.

Sorry I can't tell you more. I was more into cave diving than fishing when I lived up there.
