from great to sad

 tryed to fish at DANIA PIER once, found out by having a some what good coversation with a regular, who I guess thought the pier had gone bad since all the spanish people had started fishing there, after a while my freands arrived and I said goodbye to my new freand ,it was at this time that I told him my name(JULIO),as I looked him in the eye ,his mouth wide open,he started to appologize,I told him it was the way he felt and I wasnt offended. Its good to know who your enemies are, keep them close. Why do some people think only they have the right to fish there, every one pays, well he worked there at one time,I dont know if he did,I didnt ask to see his reciept.I wont be going back even if it was free,my time away from the world is very precious,I wont spend it with IDIOTS,thats my bosses job! There are too many other places to fish from. BE PART OF THE SOLUTION,NOT PART OF THE PROBLEM!!! INDIANS-THE ONLY REAL AMERICANS,CHECK ITS TRUE!!!! BORN CUBAN,AMERICAN MADE AND PROUD!!! TIGHT LINES to EVERYONE NOT A SELECT FEW!!

This is an interesting post. You make mention of the sterotyping of people and how you were insulted. You then proceed to make another post and insult people yourself. In the topic of 6# line from a pier

"we were able to shoulder gaff it, so no harm would be done to the fish, dispite several offers to buy the fish from the local pier rats that wanted to hack it up and use it for shark bait,I told them I would be putting it back, the tourist all clapped and took pictures of the fish"

Please make up your mind and decide if you want to be part of the problem or part of the solution. I happen to be one of those pier rats you refer to. General comments like the one's made to you are no better then the ones you post. Remember you just don't know who is who here and someone you may be friends with might be attached to your comments. I have requested the admins to remove this posting because it is only going to cause drama.

It's up to them to decide if it is a thread to keep or kill.

I am not a latino, have fished Dania a lot, although not in the last 6 months or so and I have seen people of all ethnic backgrounds disrespect the pier. "Spanish" people are from Spain I would suspect. I have not met many of those here in SF.
As far as people asking to buy your fish you can do as you choose, accept or decline. No sense in getting up tight about it. Some of those "pier rats" you refer to are dang good fisherman.
I have met a lot of good people fishing Dania Pier and yes at times I admit I have been annoyed by some. Just fish and enjoy the time you have.

In my opinion, what your ethnic background is or what language you speak has nothing to do with whether you are a nice person to be around or a nasty person to be around. I believe that is determined by what is inside. Some people were taught or have learned to be kind, considerate, helpful, respectful, etc. Some people have not and are rude, disrespectful, inconsiderate, vulgar, etc. There are both kinds in any ethnic group...none are exempt. So why link it to some ethnicity or people that speak a certain language....I don't see the connection!!
