Some snookin questions

Im relatively new to the fishing scene so bare with me here. I have recently acquired an obsession with trying to catch or atleast hook my first snook. I've been reading up on this website about the different tactics you guys use to hook up with these fish. I've actually gone out and tryed a couple of these with absolutely no success, ive fished Channel 2 in the keys quite a bit and I never catch anything but a couple jack and small snapper. Well my question is this, alot of you talk about freelining bait for snook, I would appreciate it if someone could give me a quick explanation on how to freeline? And how to know if the current is outgoing because from what I keep reading this is the best time to fish for them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

wow...that clears up alot of the questions I had...thanks..and by the way I am in Texas for about two weeks but when I get back down to S.Fla I will PM you and see if you have some time to meet up even if I dont catch one that day it would be awesome as far as gaining hands on experience
