Supposedly this is one of the best times for mutton snapper and I was wondering what baits people are using and if its better to fish in the daytime or nighttime for snapper. I heard DOA shrimp were effictive at times but that live is the best. I fish at anglins so they don't offer live shrimp so does frozen work well enough or do i have to go all the way to Dania then drive all the way to anglins for shrimp. help please

if you want a mutton or even any type of snapper just go on the drift boats when they sail out at night. you'll have much better luck on this option instead of......

Fresh cut bait like gogs, ballyhoo, pilchards, and good old shrimp.

Fresh bait is the key and 2 hours before and after sunrise and sunset are the best times IMHO

Small grunts or pinfish, either cut in half, butterflied or just stepped on to get the juices flowing.
