Need Fish Id Please

With few exceptions regs, limits, etc. aren't posted in many places. Get your equipment at walmart or sports authority and you'll likely not engage anyone to discuss the fact that there are limits, license requirements, etc.

Time to resurrect a dead horse and beat it some more.

Hmmm..... what do I see here. What? A fishing regulation booklet on the counter of Sports Authority. The sales rep tells me they are free to all customers.


Let me step back and take a wide view for those people still in disbelief.


Bolo, what were you doing at Sports Authority since they dont sell Accurate Reels? Good question. To buy my Florida Sportsman Lawstick.

SA has 2 or 3 "footprints". The version with the full fishing section, like you were in, has much of that stuff. Many don't. I've been in 6 of them in the past 2 weeks, and NONE had the Florida fishing regs.

We need to change that so people can get access to that information.

They should just make everyone required a fishing license. Upon purchase they get a regulation book. No excuses when FWC issues a fat ticket. What would be cool is that when you buy your license they upload the information on your Driver License. All FWC or LE can check you.

Yeah, up here in MI when you get your lisence, your handed the MI Fishing Regulations Booklet and the Inland Trout and Salmon Guide.

I agree - let it be cheaper than other licenses, even if it is like $20 a year- and the revenue should go toward more FWC officers.

This starts to get in to a debate we all had a while back. Should a license be required to fish in saltwater?

A FLresident that doesn't have a boat isn't required to have a license, so they can innocently miss all of the informational brochures that are available...

I think a heavy fines, no excuses attitude would increase awareness.

Well they do have these sings all over the keys. It would not be a bad idea to do it for the remaning bridges here in dade and broward and WPB.

Usually I fish Anglins sat. or sun. mornings. Best time for me to get out. Every once and awhile i'll hit it at night, but it's rare.
