How do I get information on catching Permit?
If I do a seach it tells me the word Permit is too common to seach for. Is there a way to find information?
Can they be caught in August off the beach at Palm Beach Shores? If so what bait or lure should be used and what method?

Yes they can be caught off shore. Live blue or calico crabs about 3 inches wide on a fishfinder rig with a high capacity reel with 20 -40 lb mono and 250 -300 yrds.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Don't forget to fish the inlet that your sitting on. There should be some big fish hanging around by that time of year.

Don't forget to kiss each crab's top shell for good luck.

Some good tips here:

Like James said, go to the inlet, use crabs and most importantly.... have patience. Meanwhile have another rod working you'll catch lots of small snappers and once in a while a keeper.
