RULES FOR THIS TOURNEY

This Tourney will be for 4 weeks]
Start Date will be July 15th 2011 12am Friday

1.Snapper
2.Jack Crevalle
3.Mackerel or a Barracuda -- Not both if you live in the north your best bet would be A King and if you live in the south it would be a Cuda. You can submit one of each and we can pick the largest one and make that your entry. Some people will be lucky to be able to go for both but you can only have one of these two species count as your over all Length tally.

Rules
1.You must submit a picture of yourself here in this thread, also ask all questions here

2. A Clear picture of you and the fish and it being measured next to a tape measure that can be read and the secret print out I put up or have a judge put up a 12am start day.
MEASUREMENT IS--> Over All Length so you can Pinch the Tail to get every bit in.
Your Fish entry's must be submited here
http://www.boatlessfishing.com/forum/vi ... 19&t=26236

This picture would have to also have the fisherman in it with a smile not just your feet.
Image

3. It must be caught from land, you would be lame to enter a boat caught fish anyone can catch a fish from a boat. Not so easy to find the bIg ones from land, this is honor based and I believe in all of you.

4. All entry photos of fish will have to be submitted with in 48 hours of catch. No oh I forgot to submit this one-Won't count. So I suggest you submit all of your catchs that hold some size. We will weed out the smaller and keep the biggest to count.

5. It will be your responsibility to watch the leader board and correct any issues with me as we go, you will have 36 hours after I submit a change to the leader board for you to correct any mistakes.

6. A total of the combine lengths of the largest of each species will be totaled and that will be your number. So this means a Snapper at 25inches, a King or Cuda {Only one of these two species can be a part of your total number} at 38inches and a Jack Crevalle at 30 inches = 93 inches

7. No snatching or snagging of fish.

This is for FUN and make sure you have fun.

Judges to help if needed, I will have them judge a photo if I am not 100% on size.

I may add more RULES, but I want to keep it simple

I don't do any tournaments, due to the fact that I never win & just fish to relax. I am willing to judge the pics if needed, as I don't know a soul on here, and will be completely impartial.

BF.. good idea and seeing as I have little time to fish I'd happily volunteer to judge so long as its a catch & photo posted publicly on the site to enter. I used to run tourneys on a kayak site so have experience, could also have some input and perhaps suggestions for enrty qualifications.

Its about that time. 8) it would be very interesting to see a non shark fishing tournament
to go on that is boatless only even if its 15 days which is long enough. but as for the time.... isn't that too soon though. July is coming up real fast though. i would think maybe a notification of two possibly 3 months in advance is more like it so rules are down pat and people have time 2 prepare.
maybe like when the mullet run comes through. that would be even cooler and then tarpon could be added to the list as well and anything special like kings, cobes, sailfish or etc. :)

I'll be taking home the big prize, no matter if its in july or aug/sep. Maybe make it so a sign or something is necessary for the fish to be eligible, so we know its not a previous catch.

I'd be more than happy to judge. I don't fish for Macs or Cudas so entering would be pointless. Besides the guys with the best chance will be fishing the bridges down south.

I think this is a great idea, but I'm with the others regarding cudas. I regularly travel 2 hours to the north and south of my location to fish, and don't get anywhere close to barracuda country.

You could replace it with trout, snook, redfish, ladyfish, or just about anything else and not give a geographic advantage. Its not that the mix suggested by Boatless Fishman is not a great idea, though.

Many don't travel South and many don't travel North, but cudas can be caught in just about anywhere in FL East, West, South, or North. But of it helps those that don't have the spots for them (piers and jetties), Redfish are hardy fish and can be caught and released with no problems (that I know). Perhaps adding these to the mix will help.

Please don't put Snooks either since these are in the spawning season and should be left alone.

Trout are easy to catch down South but we do not have the lunkers from the Indian River.

I drive anywhere to fish, so no matter what species I am good with all.
