10 inches which was quite bad.
Nonetheless I went fishing hoping I would at least catch one fish.

When I turned up at the water I saw that it was very murky.
It looked like it made no sense to drag a streamer through the stream
so I had to think of a plan B.
A distance upstream a feeder came into the main stream, that feeder
had usually a low flow rate so maybe the water would be clear
enough for fishing.
When I came at the feeder it turned out that it carried almost more
water than the main stream and that the feeder caused the coloration
of the main stream.
Upstream from the feeder the water was clearer and there I started
catching fish.

My main goal for today was to get yellow perch so that first pike was
a surprise. With no wire trace and no landing net it seemed a futile
attempt to land the bank.
Especially the steep bank and deep water where cause for concern.
Luckily the barbless hook came out, long line release.

In the mean time the weather got bad, the rain was pouring.
Since a bridge was near I could shelter between the showers and
fish in the brief dry periods.
The yellow perch where found near a weir where I saw plenty of
activity.

At intervals baitfish where jumping near the weir, that was where
I caught the fish.

When a new front of showers approached I called it a day, I was
already happy to have caught a few fish in these less than optimal conditions.
