On the 19th. of November I had a working party at our clubs hatchery and had intended
to fish the river afterwards but the recent heavy rains had turned the latter into a brown mess.
I was however given the final task of the day to catch the brown trout out of one of the
ponds at the hatchery ... with the fly rod.
Managed 5 brown trout and restocked them in a new pond, at least I caught some fish.

With had some freezing weather lately so I decided to leave the river in Germany for what it was and fish
one of the canals at my place of work for perch.
This was on the 27th, when the weather turned from freezing into more warmer weather.
I did not get the perch but instead hooked a decent pike on the 4-weight rod, one other pike got away
by throwing the hook.
The only perch that I saw that day was following my streamer but would not attack the fly.
With the algea bloom over the canal has very clear water which is challenging, might try the canal again
if the temperatures get a little higher.
