Tommy, I'm in! Maybe I can get my sis to come out too. Tell me what the final plan is, where to park, where to meet up, times, what to bring, etc? Thanks, buddy!

If i didnt see that pic, i wouldnt believe JK cleaning the beach. You guys did a nice job!!!. I'm just a bit concerned about lead paint chipping away on that wall in the pic and the turtles might eat the paint chips. JK, tks for taking the blank to blue & sorry i couldnt make it :toast:

Yeah, hey, Tommy, I'm sorry I had to punk out and didn't make it, either. I just wish we had some pics of the International Surf Casting Olympics,Ten Foot Rod Minimum, Amateur Division. I didn't even know they had a competition, let alone an Olympic one. Boy, those guys really could put a coat of sand on those bank sinkers! And thanks for the doh-nuts and goodies. I was gonna put some $ in the till but I got distracted by that lady laying on the picnic table. Next time, though. And a big shout out to the Fort Lauderdale Women's Club for bringing those poor orphan sandwiches that needed to find a nice home. BF was more than happy to help out! Thats' right; we ROCK! Out.

Not sure since i was not there.

I heard from Tommy that the guy that was suppose to bring water didn't and no one else brought water since they were counting on him. So, they had to end the clean up early. Sucks

Okay, so check this out! When I first saw that there was "another" beach cleanup, I was really glad because I love doing stuff like this, plus I get to hang out with some of the big dogs for a couple hours. I had just got back in town and didn't take the time to realize that this was last year's post. Nilson and Herb are laughing at me at this point, but the best is yet to come. Yes, I woke up early on the 29th and headed out for 27th Street and the ocean. Yes, there was major construction on Commercial Blvd during rush hour, but I arrived just 4 minutes before the gates opened and didn't have to wait long. I pulled in and parked and got my ticket for the dashboard, right? Then, I waited. And I got out of the car and took a seat on a beach chair. And waited. The surf was way rough and waves were good for surfing. But, I still waited. And I thought, wow, those guys must be in rush hour traffic, too, coming from Dade and parts unknown. So, I waited. Hey, I was good. I paid for three hours, right? So, I waited. Half an hour later, while I was waiting, I started to think, "something's wrong here". Then, four cars and trucks pull into the lot and I jump up, ready to greet all my Brothers of the Wooden Plank, and......................nothing. These guys were here to "kite" with parasails and boogie boards. So, I went back and sat down...........................and waited. After an hour (you only have to wait 20 minutes for an instructor in college), I decided to literally take matters into my own hands. I had brought my own gloves, five gallon bucket and a long handle grabber. Off I went. North. I filled my bucket up and returned to 27th and dumped it in the trashcan there. Then, I went back and started again where I left off. I made it up to 29th and turned around to head back. This little old white haired lady comes up to me and says, "What do you think you're doing?" Apparently, she had never seen anyone doing a beach sweep. Sadly, I had to explain that I was a one-man cleanup crew and my associates "failed"
to show up. If you know me, you know I love to mess with the locals anyway, so that was a little fun. Then, I walked back to the lot and deposited my second bucket full in the trash, threw away my gloves and headed out to find an early lunch including a cheeseburger, Nilson, and then my usual nap. Such exertion! And I want to thank all of you for you support during my time of delusion, thinking there was a beach cleanup. Next time, I'll bring my rum! Out! :nopity:
