Shore Fishing on Juno Beach?

Post by phonestarsllc »

Will I get in some sort of stupid trouble if I fished from the beach out there? Just trying a different approach over there.

Nope not before the lifeguards get there. Lots of guys get snook from the beach casting lures there.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Depends on what you are targeting. I've use plugs or jigs for snook and walk the beach. Fresh shrimp will work for whiting croaker runners and jacks.

You can fish anywhere on Juno during the day except the small guarded section near Carlin Park. The vast majority of the beach is not guarded.

You can fish and park any place you like. I usually fish north or south of pier, less fishing pressure.
You just never know where the hot place is going to be, I've never done well in South Palm Beach from the surf, last year it was by far the hottest for me.

what do you think the possibilities are of catching a shark with this fishing method? I know its a small chance, but you guys know alot more then I do about this type of fishing.

Thanks

When the sharks are in the area I have caught them on top waters and spoons. That being said fresh bait soaked on the bottom is a much better option.
