Some barracuda action this week
Haven't seen them around for a while but we got a few earlier in the week on home made surgical tubes. Mine went 50 " on the button, I'm in the red jacket.

That's one monster cuda. It's always nice to catch a fish big enough that you need help to hold it up.

Nice cuda!!
I went out there a few nights ago and they were also getting some nice sized blues in the middle of the night.

Some of the bait fishermen have been getting them thru out the night, I've seen the remnants of their catches when I get there early in the morning. I seldom get back out there after my morning fishing, mornings have been poor unless you're after sheepshead.migs24 wrote:Nice cuda!!I went out there a few nights ago and they were also getting some nice sized blues in the middle of the night.

I make them a few different ways, the one pictured is actually still in service from 3 years ago. They may not catch more fish (I think they do) than store bought, but the top grade surgical tubing we use withstands the strikes much better. The key is the hook , we use a 12/0 limerick by Mustad, there are about 6 of us that make them.Snook hunter wrote:It's always a plus to catch a fish on a homemade lure - monster cuda
