I gotta say it really seemed like Matt did. He was always laughing or smiling and never mad at himself for too much

I did not know him, but may he rest in peace.

I went on Saturday and went out to "chew the fat" with my buddies

I put a little runner out on my trolley. After 1/2 an hour it gets NAILED and I come tight to nothing, and reell in the tail, on the stinger, and the head on the lead hook. It BARELY missed my treble :x :x :x :x My friend said he saw a king sky it.

Other than that the Wal-mart specials were slayin the ribbonfish and thats about it.

Fished the pier today from 6am to about 5pm. For the most part, it was very slow out there today witht he exception of a school of bonitas that came through first thing this morning. Think there was about 4 or 5 hookups out of that school but only 3 landed that I saw including the one that I landed. Other than that, I saw a few blue runners caught, a couple of macs, and a bunch of croakers up in the surf. Also, met GruntKing and Mogenmyle up there....was nice to meet you guys!! Sorry the fish didn't cooperate so well.....we'll get'm next time!! :reeling:

Hi everyone. First post to the board though I have been a member for awhile. Fished Juno pier on Christmas Day. Got there about 6:30 and was catching fish for about two hours. Unfortunately they were some blue runners and a lot of Puffer fish. Puffers were good size and fun to catch, so at least there was action. Slowed down the rest of the day though periodically stil caught Puffers. The rest of the pier was very slow by all accounts and seemed to be totally dead at the T. Left about 3:30. Was fishing with squid on dropper rigs. Did see one small Spanish Mack caught.

Bait generally does not show up here until mid April at least not in any large quantity. Last year we had threadfin's and cigar minnows starting then and lasting almost all summer. I recommend a #4 to #6 Hyabusa Sabiki with the red beads when the water is clear or green when it is dirty. :happyfisherman:

I was in Juno Saturday night from around 5 pm to 8 pm. The weather was terrible and I didn't expect to catch anything but I was bored. At around 7:30 pm I was talking to a couple fishing next to me when I just kind of flicked out a shrimp around 5 feet from the pier. As soon as it hit the water I got a huge jerk on my line, fish on. It pulled some drag but I finally get it to the edge of the pier and it's to big to flip on and my pier net is 30 feet away on my cart. I had to wait for another fisherman to bring me the net. The way this fish was fighting I thought for sure I was going to lose it. Got it in the net and it turned out to be my very first Pompano, and, it was a winner. 22.25 inches and 5.1 lbs.

Well, beings there's been a shortage of reports from Juno lately, I'll give a short one from today. Walked out on the pier at 6:15 this morning with temp at 47 degrees and a NW wind howling at about 15 to 20 mph. And even though I had 3 layers of clothes on, I soon figured out that wasn't going to be enough, so I put my rain suit on over top of that yet....that managed to keep everything warm except my hands. Second cast with a #14 Xrap landed a nice lady fish and that's when I figured out that the way to warm your hands was to catch a fish and hold on to it for a minute. The most common catch of the day was the ladyfish....they seemed to be everywhere. I did manage to also land a mac that went about 2lbs, a nice pomp, and a couple of blues that were nice sized. In the afternoon, the blacktips and spinners were around feasting on the ladyfish. Saw several of them hooked and I lost one ladyfish and jig to one with several other close calls. Not sure what they were catching up closer to the surf, but that's a 10 hr report from the T. Till next time! :happyfisherman:
