Got a few mahi this morning off Pompano Beach in 180' on live pilchards. First ever mahi mahi for me. Catch and release like always. Yes thats right, all were released.

The reports have been saying that the bite has slowed (mostly during the day) lately but had a friend in town so hit the river in the yak for a couple days.

Ever since June I thought my best shot at landing something decent off the beach would be kingfish. So far, I have not landed a single one, although I suspect I lost a couple fish. I have caught a ton...

Launched at 5:50.

At 6:05 I spotted 3 tailers and they were within casting distance of me...it was still DARK. By the time I casted they were literally 15ft from me...I felt like I was being watched...

There were two Yaks that tried to launch at Daina yesterday AM..... They looked to be well equipped and you would think that they were experienced Yakers but I think other wise.... Conditions were 17...
