I wouldn't say it's a bad thing. If there are gators then there are fish to support their diet. Just be cautious around the banks of the river when you're fishing.

Depends what you are looking for. I would say 100$ is hard to beat on anything you're looking at, but usually even a good yak in decent condition shouldn't go under $200 second-hand.
