Yesterday was the first day of happy bait on Miami beach. Huge bait pods were getting crushed by huge schools of 15 lb jacks, snook, 30-150 lb tarpon and big sharks. Today same thing. Got a mullet run...

The pier has lights on the corners at the T, but I wouldn't say they have much effect on bait, I had a light tossed down the whole night and not a single sardine.

Note: I'm new to beach pier fishing...

You want a falling tide for south beach, live mullet is always best but u can use a DOA bait buster , terror eyes, rapala ..ect.
