Here is a quick and easy way to make retractable safety lanyards for all sorts of tackle.

Finished product.

Here is how to make it.
Cut an approximately 8 length of 1/2-3/4 dowell and drill holes...

Sorry for the late reply. If you put the line under a lot of tension and leave the tension on it a while, you will loose the coil. A quick pull like a rod going over won't cause a problem.

I picked up pretty good idea for a quick fix to keep snelled hooks and leader rigs untangled. Take an old pool noodle and wrap them around it, just cut the length you need.
